‘A Happening’ is happening again!

Join us for an exclusive party experience at the Horizon Terrace, where the stunning backdrop of Victoria Harbour sets the stage for an evening of avant-garde sound and performance. Join us for ‘The Sound of Skin: A Happening’, a vibrant event featuring two specially commissioned live performances and an electrifying DJ set.

Immerse yourself in avant-garde experimentation with Wahono, a singular sound artist based in Jakarta, Indonesia. As the founder of the experimental label Divisi62, Wahono amplifies Indonesian identity by sharing homegrown narratives on a global scale. With a new performance commissioned especially for ‘The Sound of Skin: A Happening’, Wahono will explore Indonesia’s sonic heritage, intertwining archival materials and traditional sounds and adding a contemporary twist. By linking the past with the present, Wahono demonstrates the power of sound to connect us to history, culture, and one another.

Also featured in the line-up is an interactive performance by the Crip Art collective c.95d8, which focuses on the experiences of artists with disabilities. Formed in 2022 by Hong Kong friends Yeung Siu-fong, Thisby Cheng, and Bomb Lam, c.95d8 challenges conventional perceptions of time and ability, and reclaims the word ‘crip’, short for ‘cripple’, as a term of empowerment. Their collaborative and interactive works encourage audiences to reconsider productivity and embodiment, and to experience different personal and collective time scales with a slowed-down gaze. Sharing and touching become radical acts, and build empathy, strength, and vulnerability through the interplay of diverse perspectives.

Finally, Hong Kong-based crate-digger DJ Woonjii returns to the decks for a night of eclectic sounds, unconventional rhythms, and melodies from around the world, with a focus on Asia.  As the co-founder of experimental collective yisekai, DJ Woonjii often organises music events at 宀 Club and Acadana to showcase talented local producers and DJs.
